I'm gonna use this post to put my 2 cents in about a common perv argument against the registry. They keep saying it's ineffective because it's usually someone close to the family anyway. So, once and for all, the counter to that argument is- yes the registry is ineffective at helping the first family they groom and abuse, but from that point forward, they will be on a database so other families have a fair warning before he becomes their trusted acquaintance. People go from strangers to friends all the time. So at least now when a perv wants to get close to another family with kids, the family has a fighting chance to know the truth
